23-17
1/2/07 Trey Camp -
Junior, LF.
BA/400,SLG%/522,RS/42,SB/25,RBI/38
At 6'1 190; and in excellent condition, Trey's durability and skill make
him a coaches dream. A definite D-1 prospect Trey's work ethic is
unmatched. Along with Joe Glass, Trey and Joe are one of the best 1-2 run
producer in West Tennessee.
Joe Glass - SR, 2nd/OF. BA/304,SLG%/536,RS/49, SB/19, RBI/31, F%/904
Joe's versatility and speed are what make him highly recruited. His
ability to handle the bat very well and move runners in key situations
make him dangerous at
the plate. At the Baltimore Oriole's Camp this summer his 60 time at mid
6's was the fastest scouts had seen at some time. Joe wants to double his
SB in 07, he was 19/19 in 06.
Tyler Woodard - SR, SS. With a 936 fielding percentage, Tyler will run the
show at short-stop. After a slow start in 06, hard work and determination
will step up his game in 07. At 6'2 180lbs, Tyler has played 3rd and SS
has one of the best gloves on the Cardinal team.
Jesse Brook - SR, 1st.BA/360,SLg%/509,RS/17, RBI/45,F%958
At 6' 205lbs, Jesse will keep the roll of cleanup hitter. After a hard off
season of conditioning, Jesse take more of the stage with the long ball.
After starting two consecutive years at 1st his has posted a 958 fielding
%.
Jeremy White- JR, RHP. 6 wins, 4.36 ERA in
06. As a sophomore in 06 Jeremy was named to the All District 13AAA
team. With a upper 80's fastball, hard slider, and a changeup. Jeremy
broke through in 06 with wins over MUS and Bartlett. Anchoring a deep
pitching staff
Jeremy is all over the college radar screens.
Colter Millican- Jr, LHP. After a slow start in 06, Millican finished 5-1.
Possessing a middle 80s fastball, allows him to out duel hitters with a
12/6 curve and a knuckle ball. In 06 Colter was on top of his game
defeating Hardin County for the District 13AAA Championship. At 6"1' he is
gotten attention from almost every area college and university.
Scott Doby- SR, LHP. 69 k's in 53 innings in 06. Upper 80's fastball,
devastating slider and change. At 6"3' and left handed Scott has the
ability to be un-hittable at times. Used both as a starter and relieve,
Scott always wants the ball in key situations. Coming in to BHS as a
freshman Scott is now being heavily recruited.
"We have a deep pitching staff and good
defense. The roll of a more productive offense may make the difference of
how far the team
will go," added coach Brian Oswalt.
Hardin Co. 22-16
1/12/07 Hardin County is
very optimistic about the 2007 season because of the senior leadership
that they possess. Three of these seniors are entering their third year as
starters. Hunter DeBerry is a centerfielder who can really run. He
runs in the 6.6 range, and has several scholarship offers on the table. He
hit .316, 44r, 5hr, 25RBI, 31SB as a junior. Clif Lackey is a relatively
small catcher, 5’10” 175 lb, but is probably one of the better defensive
catchers in West Tennessee. Clif has a great feel for the game! He hit
.346, 36r, 15sb as a junior. Hunter Fowler is the last of the three-year
starters. Hunter is a very good defensive
outfielder with a strong arm. Last year, he hit .324 and had 8sb in a year
where he was hamp-ered with an ankle injury for most of the year. Ike
Boyd, .270, 26 rbi, is a junior who started most of the year at first base
last season and Alex Seaton, a senior, will both see signif-icant time at
first base and at DH. Junior Clent Martin will either play SS or 2b for
the Tigers. Clent is a “fireball” and keeps every-one on the team
motivated. The other middle infield position will be played by one of two
sophomores, Brandon McAfee or Charles Porter. Jared Stricklin, .253,
1hr, 14rbi, is a senior who will man third base. Jared played second base
for the Tigers last year, but will make the move to third to sure up the
Tiger defense. The other outfield position will be filled by one of three
guys: Junior Josh Bills, Junior Nick Taylor, or Sophomore Gage Franklin.
Inconsistency on the mound last season was the Tiger’s #1 problem. The
Tigers feel much better about their staff this year. Hunter Fowler, rhp,
was 4-5 last season with a 3.69 ERA, but was without a doubt their best
pitcher down the stretch. He goes into the 2007 season as the #1 starter.
He has worked extremely hard in the
Tiger off-season throwing and lifting program, and will give us a chance
to win every time he is on the mound. Hunter has verbally committed to
Columbia St. Chace Franks, senior rhp, 3-2, 2 saves, 3.08ERA last year,
had a really good summer and comes into the 2007 season as a guy that
needs to come up big for the HCHS. He will be used as a starter and in
relief. Chace likes coming out of the pen in big situations, and he does a
great job in those situations. Ryan Buczynski is a junior who has had a
great off-season. Ryan threw 15 innings last year as a sophomore and did a
great job. He has worked extremely hard at becoming not only a better
pitcher, but a better athlete. His fastball is in the 80s and he throws a
good 12/6 curveball along with a changeup. Gage Franklin, soph/lhp, is a
guy who the Tigers hope comes into his own this year. Gage pitched in
three games as a freshman which gave him some much needed exper-ience for
this season. Other Tigers who will be
seeing significant time on the mound are: Clent Martin, Clif Lackey, and
Hunter DeBerry.
“Our pitching staff and defense should keep us in most games. We
must have some guys step up and deliver offensively for us to become a
good baseball team,” said Coach Ryan Miller.

Charles Dibella OF Hit .290 as a Freshman
Adam McClain Inf. Hit .382 lead team w/50hits
Greg Bachman Inf. Hit .306 with 35 RBI
Top Returning Pitchers
Matt Gilbert RHP Lead team with 53 IP
Worth Tate RHP Signed with Univ. of Memphis
Michael Collie RHP Lead team in W's as Soph.
Chris Williams RHP Sr. solid out of Pen.
The Mustangs will rely heavily on the two Senior arms Gilbert and Tate.
For the team to be successful three Sophomore pitchers will have to step
up and be huge. The fastest team man for man we have had. Look for the
Mustangs to run when they arrive at the park. If we can fight off the
injury bug it should be an excit-ing battle in 15AAA. The emergence of
White Station makes it a 4 team battle along with Collierville and
Germantown. Collierville 34-14
2/20/07 Top returning Players are:
SS Scott Perryman .392
DH/of Sean Clark .375
of Jason Montgomery .347
of Connor Simmons .298
Our top three pitcher's return. Pitching and defense will be our strength.
Drew Pomeranz, Collegiate Baseball High School All-American returns for
his senior season. Pomeranz signed early with Ole Miss. Jonathan Jones,
Sr. RHP,
6'4 180 returns after being injured all of last season. He had a great
summer and has signed early with the U. of Memphis. Patrick Bailey, Sr.,
RHP returns. He was 5-5 last year as a Junior...14 games, 44Ip, 16 earned
runs, 37 hits, 15 BB's, 44K's, 2.55 era.
The Keys to success for us will be our ability to score runs and
developing depth in our pitching staff. I think our offensive produc-tion
will be much better than last spring. We have much more pop in our
lineup and more team speed. Our pitching depth is good, however it is
unproven. |

Kyle Atkinson 12/rhp 3-0, 2.52 era, 17 inn.
The Panthers lost 4 pitchers that threw in the state tournament last year,
their combin-ed record was 20-12. We will need to have several pitchers to
step this year, if we plan on competing for another state tourney
appearance.
This year Panthers- position players- will be made up of mostly juniors.
They will have to learn quickly to adjust to the varsity game. The
pitching staff will be made up of a combination of Sr and Jr., having lost
so many innings from last year's staff, this group will be expected to
carry the load. "The '07 schedule will be really tough and if these young
players don't work hard, we could be in for some tough times," said Coach
Phil Clark. Hopefully, the schedule and developing through out the year,
the Panthers will be ready when tourney time comes around.

"This year we will have to have some young players step up and produce
offensively and defensively . We lost a lot of plate product-ion and rbi
as well as top 2 pitchers. Last year we found out what hard work will do
and this schedule won't do us any favors. Players will have to understand
they cannot live on past accomplishments," said Coach Chris Duncan.

"Our key to this spring will be for our very young and untested pitching

bat," said coach Mike Vanaman. |
