| Lance Knight - " Coach Dennis has done an outstand-ing job since he has been a part of Chattanooga State and his hard work is really paying off for him this year. This weekend is a very interesting match-up of two teams that are probably a surprise to a lot of people in our league. I know that Coach Dennis' squad will be solid in every aspect of the game. They don't do any one thing that is outstanding but they do everything well and that is where their success has come from. It should be a great match-up this weekend with three great baseball games. Our team must continue to stay focused on the things that we do well. We are in a position that we have never been in before and we must focus on the Hiwassee Tigers and playing the way that we are supposed to. We still have to play with an underdog mentality and play scrappy, hard-nosed, aggressive baseball in order to give ourselves a chance this weekend against a quality ball club." |
Greg Dennis - "Hiwassee
has obviously gotten off to a terrific start to this season and it is truly
a credit to Coach Knight that he has them playing as well as they are. They
have been on a terrific streak in conference and there is nothing tougher
than playing a good team that is playing well. His pitching has done a
superb job of holding teams at bay and their offense has been both opportunistic and prolific. The only good thing about this series for us is that it is at home and hopefully, that will give us some kind of advantage. We must meet their energy and momentum head on and try to slow it down some. We have been playing well also of late and we must continue that trend by pitching well, playing solid defense and hitting effectively. I really believe our two teams are built around the same concepts and it is just going to be execution that decides these games. We must continue to focus on the little things that can and will make a huge difference for us in each and every game." |
