Greg Dennis - "No
secret here that Dyersburg has emerged in the past 3 years as one of the
toughest teams in the conference to prepare for and defend. They
always swing the bat extremely well and play solid defense while competing
their rear-ends off on the mound. They are a "come-at-you" team that NEVER takes a backwards step. Playing them on the road only makes it even tougher and I hope we don't end up with egg on our......face after the series. Coach White does a great job with them and always has them ready to go. We must continue to play the style of play that suits us and hope to slow down their red-hot bats. If we try and turn this into an offensive slugfest we could be in big trouble. Pitching and defense win the series and when you are on the road it is even more important to take care of those things. Hopefully, we will be healthy and competitive in this series." |
Robert White - "Chattanooga State is a solid team that has been playing well all year. They are coached well and have showed why they are ranked #12 in the country. They have solid pitching, a balanced lineup, and a lot of team speed. One thing when you play Chatt, you know you're in for a battle and they'll get after you.We must continue to hit the baseball. Our pitching must keep them from having that big inning. Defensively, we must limit them to just three outs an inning." | ||||||

Dyersburg State got excellent pitching performances from Casey Norris and Hunter Nolen through eight innings in shutting down a very good Chattanooga line-up. Mickey Campeanu pitched a complete game for CSCC but was a tough luck loser as JT Taylor and Courtney Hardaway hit solo homeruns for Dyersburg State with Hardaway's blast being the game winner in the bottom of the seventh inning.
