One bright spot was relief pitcher Jacob Stallings from Brentwood Academy impressing the scouts with a fastball reaching 92. Starting pitcher Blair Wright did not have his best performance but pitched well enough to keep the game close but Tennessee's bullpen gave up some timely hits to Missouri. Drew Martinez
reassured his status as one of the premier leadoff hitters in the state going 3-3 making his two game total 5-7! Team Tennessee will face last year's champion Texas Saturday at 2:00 with Vanderbilt signee and Smyrna standout Sonny Gray taking the hill. In the nightcap Tennessee will face Oklahoma with East Robertson's big man Will Clinard getting the call.

Ramsey shut down Team Texas as he struck out 4 of the 6 batters he faced mixing his off-speed pitches with a 88-92 mph fastball. Drew Martinez continued to be the hot hitter as he was 3-3 raising his tournament total
to 8 hits in 10 at-bats. The game was called after 5 complete innings due to heavy rains.

Tennessee came into today coming off big wins against Texas and Oklahoma but could not get it done against California. Tennessee's bats were hot at times but couldn't get the timely hit late to push the runs across. Tennessee played solid defensively with Franklin's Corban Joseph and Bartlett's Jacob Wilson making some outstanding plays. Wilson was also hot at the plate having 2 doubles and 3 RBI's. Ravenwood outfielder, Kes Carter also swung the bat well having 2 hits and 2 RBI's. Marshall
County standout Seth Lintz was roughed up by the California bats giving up 9 runs in three innings of work. Baylor stud, Tyler Massey came on in relief and quieted California by not allowing a run the last 4 innings. Tennessee looks to rebound tomorrow against Mississippi and Oklahoma Gold. Bolivar pitcher Will Irvin will take Mississippi while Science Hill big man, Lucas Anderson will face Oklahoma.

The very next pitch Lexington's Billy Keck hits a mammoth shot over the left-field fence to put Tennessee up 5-1. Tennessee was only able to muster one more run as many hard hit balls were caught by the Mississippi defense. Bolivar's Will Irvin took the mound and threw well until the top of the 6th when he allowed 3 walks. Irvin's fastball stayed consistently 88-90mph and he was credited with 5 K's. Brentwood Academy's Jacob Stallings was the highlight of the game and solidified himself as one of the top dual player's in Tennessee! He caught the first 5 innings throwing out one would-be stealer before coming in in the 6th with bases loaded and no outs. Stallings proceeded to strike the next three batters out with a fastball that was 92-93. Stallings caught the eyes of the 20+ scouts at the game with his fastball and PRESSURE performance. Tennessee plays the Oklahoma Gold tonight at 7:45 with Science Hill standout Lucas Anderson getting the call.

Series Highlights -
The 2007 version of Team Tennessee came away with a 4th place finish in the 11th annual Sunbelt Classic. The trip served its main purpose as all players from Tennessee had the opportunity to showcase their skills to 20-30 of the top Division 1 schools in the country. Many of this year's players caught the eye of numerous scouts and will likely be pursued with this tournament playing a key role. Tennessee was one win away from the championship game but a key loss to Arizona on Tuesday on a walk-off homerun sealed the deal as Missouri and California played for the championship. Missouri won 3-2! Tennessee had 3 players named to the All-Tournament team with Christian Brother's Drew Martinez, Bartlett's Jacob Wilson, and Franklin's Corban Joseph getting the honor. Martinez proved to be one of the hottest players in the tournament going 18 for 34(.529) with 7 RBI, 6 doubles and 13 runs scored. Wilson hit .344 going 10 for 29 with 10 RBI and 5 doubles. Joseph was 11 for 28(.392) with 4 RBI, 2 doubles, and 7 runs scored.  Lexington's Billy Keck led the team with 2 homeruns while Jacob Sled the team in saves with 2. Stallings proved to be one of the players who caught the eyes of many scouts with his 92-93 mph fastball and a 1.9 pop time to 2nd from behind the plate. Bartlett's Heath Hatfield pitched well in his two outings only allowing 4 ER's
against some of the top hitters in the country. Science Hill's Lucas Anderson and East Robertson's Will Clinard also threw well as both earned a victory in Oklahoma. Clinard had a fastball that topped in the 90's. Dyersburg's Les Smith and Franklin's Casey Dykes had some key hits during the tournament and also played solid defensively. Smyrna's Sonny Gray, Marshall Co.'s Seth Lintz, Bolivar's Will Irvin, Farragut's Matt Ramsey, Briarcrest's Will Lacante, and M.U.S.'s Blair Wright all took advantage of their time on the mound and showed why each will have a future in
college baseball and possibly beyond. Ravenwood's Kes Carter proved he will be a big time hitter as he had 8 hits in the tournament as well as some clutch RBI's. Baylor's Tyler Massey and Zeth Stone along with Oakland's Tennyson Dodd saw time in the field and will all prove to be huge assets to future programs.
