| Greg Dennis - " Cleveland State is a solid team that is coming off a super end of the year last year. They are talented and athletic and present problems from all areas of the game. They have solid sophomore pitch-ing and hitting and are not going to hurt themselves traditionally. Mike does a great job of putting the guys in position to win and has had great success all of the time I have been here at Chattanooga State. OUR TEAM MUST - Keep the games close and play our game. We have seen them many times through the years and know what they are capable of. We are very young and inexperienced so it is going to be a learning situation for us, here early. If we can slow them up some and keep them off-balance, we can give ourselves a chance to be successful against a very talented and experienced team." |
Mike Policastro
- "With the location of these two
schools a rivalry is inevitable. Coach Dennis has done a great job of
turning their program around to become a force in our league. This year we know they are going to have great arms on the mound and some solid sophomore leadership with Burstrom and Rochester. These two teams know each other very well so the series will probably come down to who has the better pitching and who can take advantages of mistakes. We know Coach Dennis is going to have his guys fired up and ready to play and look forward to a great series. OUR TEAM MUST - Catch and throw the baseball and not give up free bases. Those things have been the key to our losses. If we do those things correctly we should be in every game with a chance to win. Offensively we must keep doing the things that we have been doing which is be aggressive and battle with two strikes. We know that those guys are going to throw strikes so we have to be able to take advantage of mistakes. Our weekend pitching staff has done a great job to start the 2007 campaign and look to those guys to have solid outings in all three games." |

Series Highlights -
Chattanooga State out competed Cleveland
State in every game of the series. Their pitchers made the big pitches
when they needed them and their hitters got the timely base hits to be the
difference in the weekend. Their pitching staff was outstanding and
did all the necessary things a pitcher needs to do by throwing strikes and
keeping hitters off bal-ance. Their offense was lead by their entire team.
1-9 got it done when they had to.
