Coaches comments: Coaches comments:
Kelly Bratton - " Cleveland State is playing very good right know. They have a lot of experience playing a crucial series like this one will be.  Mike will have his team ready to go and will get there best games this weekend. We can't let there big hitters hurt us.
We must continue to swing the bats and play solid defense. Our pitching staff must keep us in the ball game. We must continue to play our game and exe-cute every time we get the opportunity. I'm excited that we hold our own destiny and we could meet our team goals this weekend. This weekend will definitely be a battle!  Our Sophomores must step up and con-tinue to lead our team and everyone must be in the game and prepared to contribute.
"
Mike Policastro - "With the meaning of this series for post season concerns we know that Coach Bratton and Columbia St. is going to be ready to play. They have put up some good numbers and their lineup is going to be a tough one to pitch to. We have to find a way to stop shooting ourselves in the foot. If we can play funda-mentally sound baseball we are a good club. When we don't we can be as bad as anybody. Our starting pitchers have to continue to get us deep in the games and it
all starts with strike one. Offensively we need to keep getting timely hits and produce. Defensively is where we have been struggling, so we need to come out and
have a better effort there.

Highlights - Stephen Shultz played a big part for Walters State today as he hit a go
ahead double in the 8th and a game winning 2 rbi double in the top of the 12th.
Beltran pitched a great game through 9 innings for the Tigers, keeping extra Walters
State off of the bases and not giving them the opportunity for the big inning.
After giving up the lead in the 9th, Hiwassee was able to put across their 6th run
of the afternoon to tie up the ballgame off of a 2 out rbi double by Brad McPeek.
The Senators proved to be too much to handle as the game went into the 12th inning
and Stephen Shults was able to drive in 2 runs off of a pretty good pitch made by
Cory Collier of the Tigers.

Highlights -
Hiwassee jumped out to an early 4-0 in the 1st and kept the lead until the Senators
figured out Hiwassee starter Michael Watkins at the plate and scored 5 runs in the
5th inning to take the lead.  The Tigers answered in the bottom of the inning with 9
runs, all started by a 3 run homer by Tiger's SS Brett Book.  Walters State put up
four more runs to make it interesting in the top of the 7th but that was all that
they could push across.

Carl Seals      2-3   0    0   0  0  0  1  1

Highlights -
A well pitched ball-game by both sides.  Godfrey struggled some in the 1st to give
up 2 runs, 1 earned without a ball ever leaving the infield.  But those were all the
runs that Walters State would need.  Bobby Thompson threw extremely well for the
Senators as he only gave up 1 run off of a Marty Parks solo shot.  The Senators made
a few great plays defensively to keep Hiwassee from scoring runs.  Carl Seals tried
to hit a sac-fly with Marty Parks on 3rd for the Tigers in the bottom of the 6th but
Michael Wheeler made a great throw to home to stop Parks from scoring on a bang-bang
play.

Series Highlights - This was a highly competitive series where both teams played the
game well.  Every out of every inning was important for both sides and neither team
gave in.
