Mike Crossland - "Cleveland
State has been a thorn in our side for the past few years. Like everyone
in our conference they are very good at home. I know that Coach
Policastro will try to get his team back on track this weekend.
Cleveland is a solid baseball team and we will have to play extremely well
to have any chance on the road. We have to find a way to play better on
the road. Our starting pitching has given us a chance to win every
conference series, but we have yet to give them the run support and defensive play that we need to compete in this conference. If we do not improve defensively and get timely hitting this weekend, Cleveland will have their way with us.." |
Mike Policastro - ".Volunteer State is coming off a huge weekend against Walters State and they look like they are playing at a very high level. We know they are going to have really good arms and make plays. We have to be able to make pitches, make plays, and have timely hits. We can not afford to give up the big inning which has been our nemesis. There lineup is going to be tough to pitch to, so we can't give up the free bases for them to capitalize on. We have got to find away to play a complete 9 or 7 innings and not 2 or 3. Now that we are getting close to tournament time each weekend seems to get bigger and bigger and this one not being the exception. We know that this weekend can determine a lot and we have to be ready to play." | ||||||
