Robert White - "Every
weekend it seems each series gets more important. This one is no different
except that we are playing the top team in the nation. Coach Dennis
and his staff have done an outstanding job since arriving at Chattanooga
State. The Tigers are an extremely dangerous team. They are very talented
offensively and execute well at the plate. On the mound, they have
tremendous arms and attack hitters with their off-speed pitches. We just
hope we can make this a series. Our pitchers must keep every game low
scoring, we definitely do not want to get into a slugfest. On the other
hand, we must keep it low scor-ing as their pitcher's tend to give up
limited scoring opportunities. Our offense must compete against the Tiger
staff and come up with some timely hits. Our de-fense needs to buckle down
and make all the routine plays. We must match their intensity and enthusiasm to be able to compete at their level." |
Greg Dennis - "Dyersburg State has become one of the premiere programs in this state and region and it is specifically due to the hard work of the White brothers! Both of them have taken a program that before hand was a joke and made it into a formidable opponent week-in and week-out. They always swing the bat well and play strong fundamental ball and this year have added superb big game pitching to the mix. Their staff has to be considered one of the best in the state and certainly has performed well each week in conference play. We will have our hands full trying to slow down this multi-headed monster from West Tennessee. After a tough weekend at Motlow, we must right-the-course and get back to play-ing our style of baseball. Our pitching has been our strength thus far and we must continue riding that while getting better and more timely hitting. When we play our game we are pretty good but we must find ways to get into our style of play. Dyersburg does a great job of denying that to their opponents and it will be a true test for us this weekend." | ||||||
