Hall of Fame

Jim Norris - Coach Norris graduated from Madison HS and has coached at Cookeville HS and at McGavock HS. Norris is starting his 17th season as head coach at McGavock and his 37th season overall at the school. He has won 9 district championships, 3 region titles and has been to the state tournament 2 times as a head coach.
Dave Altopp - Coach Altopp retired from active coaching in 2006 after reaching the NAIA World Series for the first and only time in his 35 year career. Altopp won 807 games while spending time at four colleges. He spent 6 years at Trevecca before starting the program at Lee University. Dave has held several leadership roles for the NAIA and ABCA. He is currently the FCA Executive Director for Baseball Ministries.   
Phil Clark - Coach Clark is still active in coaching at Bartlett HS, having won the 2007 AAA title. Clark is 753-238 in 27 seasons at Skyview Academy, Germantown, and Bartlett. He won 2 titles while at Skyview, 2 at Germantown and was named the 1995 National Champion finishing 35-0. 17 district championships, 18 region titles, 5 state championships and 6 state runner-up finishes are quite an accomplishments and Coach Clark will probably get another before he's done.   
 
College Coach of the Year Awards

High School Coach of the Year Awards
Class AAA - Phil Clark of Bartlett    Coach Clark won his fifth overall state title at his third different school. Clark's Panthers finished with a outstanding 40-5 record on the season.
Class AA - Richie Estep of Goodpasture     Coach Estep guided the Cougars to their 5th title in '07. The Cougars finished 38-5 on the season.
Class A - John McNeal of Friendship Christian     Coach McNeal is 454-154 overall and won his first state title last season. McNeal has won 14 district championships, 10 region titles and has made 5 appearances in the state tourney.
Division II - Buster Kelso of Christian Brothers     Coach Kelso has won 6 state championships win 27 years at Christian Brothers. His overall record is 709-202.

Division I Player of the Year - Pedro Alverez of Vanderbilt   
Division I Pitcher of the Year - David Price of Vanderbilt

TJCCAA Player of the Year - Matt Hamaker of Jackson State CC    
TJCCAA Pitcher of the Year - Thomas Gray of Chattanooga State CC    
 
 
High School Player of Year Awards
Todd Helton/Pro Line Cap Player of the Year
Chad Bell of South Doyle HS     Chad dominated on the mound, going 14-1 with 141 strike outs in 91 innings pitched. Bell had a 1.31 era for the Cherokee's who finished as state runner-up. Drafted in the 25th round by the Milwaukee Brewers, Bell signed with Memphis but has since transferred to Walters State CC. He finished his high school career at 30-5 with 326 k's and 8 shutouts.
 
Class AAA Player of the Year
Heith Hatfield of Bartlett    Heath, a junior, hit .367 and drove in 59 runs while breaking the Shelby-Metro area home run record with 16. He was 10-1 on the mound with a 2.84 era and 79 k's for the AAA state champions. Hatfield has signed with the University of Memphis.
 
Division II Player of the Year
Blake Forsythe of Christian Brothers    Blake, a senior, broke school record for home runs (13) and walks and became youngest part of the first brother combo to win the TBCA Player of the Year award. Older brother, Logan, won in 2006.  Blake signed at the University of Tennessee.
 
Class AA Player of the Year
Adam Adkins of Goodpasture     Adam, a junior, was 11-0 with 8 complete games and 107 K's. He threw 2 no hitters and also hit .408 with 4 home runs and 39 rbi for the state champion Cougars. Adkins has signed with the University of Tennessee.
 
Class A Player of the Year
Brian Cravens of Friendship Christian  Blake, a senior, played multiple positions and hit .413 with 7 home runs and 48 rbi. In addition, the Motlow State signee, stole 17 bases and fielded at a .910 clip. On the mound Cravens went 10-1 with 93 k's for the state champion Commanders.
