| Johnny Ray - " Roane State is a much improved team who is playing very well right now. I am sure they will be excited to be playing at home and I know Coach Works will have them focused and ready to play. We have always had very close and well played contests against Roane, and I expect no different this week end. We must match Roane's intensity level. It is also important that we secure the base-ball and take advantage of the little things. If we continue to swing the bat as we have recently, then I am sure this will be an exciting series to watch because I know Roane will be productive offensively as well." | Larry Works - " " Will not give quotes. | ||||||

In game two Hiwassee took the lead in the fifth, only to go out and give up nine runs in the sixth. Series Highlights -Chattanooga sweeps the series. They played hard and well the entire weekend. Their pitchers made pitches when they had to and they got key hits when they needed them. Hiwassee once again found a way to give up the lead late in both games on Saturday. Their offense struggled once again, but that was because Chattanooga executed a good pitiching plan and the Hiwassee hitters never made the adjustments. Overall- Hiwassee10-18, 4-11 in conference Game 1 FRIDAY |
