Jackson Northside 19-14-1 13AAA
Champions 1/8
2012 should be a
unique opportunity for the Indians. We have many holes to fill from the
departure of 5 solid players through gradu-ation. This squad should be
competitive and ready to defend our District title by early May. We'll be
counting on several under-classmen to step in and hold it down.
Offensively, the Indians will be led by Adam Craig (JR), Glenn
McKnuckles (SR) and Jonathan Weaver (SR). Players that will need to log
productive ABs are PJ Palmer (SR), Tyler Page (JR), Jalen Newsome (JR) and
KJ Verser (JR) as well as Colie Currie (SO), Jay Epperson (SO) and Eli
Loucks (SO).
On the mound, the Indians will look for quality starts from McKnuckles,
Weaver, Tyler Graves (SR), Newsome and Currie. Craig and Palmer will log
some innings as well.
Defensively, the Indians will have to find a way to replace several key
starters at key positions. The outfield will most likely see Glen
McKnuckles in RF, Jay Epperson in CF, and PJ Palmer in LF. The infield
will see a combination of players depending on the pitching. As mainstays
expect to see Tyler Graves at 3B, Adam Craig at SS, Jonathan Weaver at 2B,
and Colie Currie/ Jalen Newsome at 1B. Behind the plate will be Tyler Page
and Eli Loucks.
The Indians expect to once again be a favorite in the District 13AAA
tournament and seek their first trip to Murfreesboro in a long while. |
