All-Region/All-State Nomination Procedure |
|
1. Nominate your players when your season is complete (When you lose in the district tournament, etc – Please do not nominate before you have finished your season. All nominations should be in by May 31, otherwise the player will not be considered). The form has many statistics, please fill out the form in its entirety as we use every bit of this info to help determine who is named to these teams. It is also used to rank the yearly statistical categories and state records. Remember, you can only nominate your player for one position, if he plays multiple positions nominate him for the one he played the most. If you have a player who also pitches, you can nominate him as a pitcher and as a position player, however, each position is considered on its own merit. You cannot nominate someone at the Designated Hitter position. 2. Your nominations will be received by John Decker. He will compile the list of players nominated and place them by region and position. (Pitcher or position player). He will then send (email) the information to the region directors by June 6. If your player is not on this list he will not be considered for TBCA All-Region or All -State teams. 3. The region directors will choose the all region teams based on these nominations. Nominations cannot be sent to the region directors during this time. If they were not in by May 31 they cannot be considered for a spot on the All-Region or All-State teams. The region directors will then send the all-region teams back to John Decker/tbca.org by June 13. The All-region team will consist of 25 players, made up of players from all classes. If a player is named for being a pitcher and position player it counts as 2 players, not one. Remember, if he is nominated at both, they are to be considered own their own merits at each position. As a general rule, the team will have at least 4 pitchers, 5 infielders, 4 outfielders, 2 catchers, and 2 utility or 2-way players for a total of 17, the remaining eight spots will go to any other player deserving to be named regardless of position. 4. John Decker/committee will choose the all state team based on the All-region team selections. The teams will be picked using all statistical categories on the form. Offensive Stats Total Bases + Runs Scored + RBI + Walks + HBP + Stolen Bases divided by Games Played Pitching Stats Wins (x5) + Saves (x3) + Strikeouts – Walks – Earned Runs 5. The All State Team will be chosen, an announced on June 27. It will be posted on www.tbca.org and it will be sent to newspapers across the state as well. There will be a first and second team, each consisting of 25 players. The team will, as a general rule, consist of at least 4 pitchers, 5 infielders, 4 outfielders, 2 catchers, 2 utility/2-way players and eight others regardless of position. |
