TBCA Scholarship Criteria


The TBCA will award annually one scholarship per region, in the amount of $1000.00 and one scholarship in the amount of $500 for continuing higher education to graduating seniors.

The following is the criteria needed for selection:

_____> Coach must be a member of TBCA

_____> Upper 25% of class

_____> Must be at least a 2-year participant in baseball

_____> Must have a letter of recommendation from coach

_____> Must have a letter of recommendation from principal or counselor

_____> ACT minimum of 24

_____> Submit high school transcript and ACT scores

_____> Submit 250-word essay on the following topic:


What are the essential characteristics of a successful teacher or coach?


Other things to consider:

Financial need

Extra-curricular activities

School / Community involvement

Candidate’s ability as an athlete WILL NOT be a factor in awarding scholarships

Does not have to be a college baseball player
