Mookie Betts
Mr. Baseball Player of the Year Award
The highest individual honor presented annually to a high school baseball player in the state of Tennessee. Named in honor of Tennessee baseball legend Mookie Betts, this prestigious award recognizes the student-athlete who has demonstrated exceptional performance, leadership, character, sportsmanship, and impact on the game throughout the season.
Unlike many awards determined by media or outside organizations, the Tennessee Mookie Betts Mr. Baseball Award is uniquely selected by the coaches who compete against and evaluate the state’s top talent firsthand. Nominations are submitted by high school coaches from across Tennessee, and voting is conducted exclusively by members of the TBCA, making the award one of the most respected and meaningful honors in Tennessee high school baseball.
Recipients of this award represent the very best of Tennessee baseball — excelling not only in athletic achievement, but also in dedication to their team, their school, and the tradition of the game. The Tennessee Mookie Betts Mr. Baseball Player of the Year Award celebrates players whose accomplishments leave a lasting impact on high school baseball across the state.
